Are you looking to hit the road this winter for a short road trip from Phoenix, Flagstaff, Tucson, Las Vegas, or California? Munds Park in Northern Arizona has everything you need for a relaxing weekend getaway in the winter. East Oak Log cabin is conveniently located just off the Interstate 17 and only 18 miles south of Flagstaff.
Munds Park is a small community with less than 1,000 permanent residents, but we do get quite a few summer and winter visitors from near and far. At an elevation of 6,590 feet, you’ll find summer temps to be approximately 25 degrees cooler than the Phoenix area, and plenty of snow in the winter. The small town charm of Munds Park brings outdoor lovers, golfers, skiers, snowboarders, and mountain bikers alike.
You’ll find a handful of local bars and restaurants serving food, drinks, and entertainment. Agee’s is known for its wonderful BBQ and pizza, they also have live outdoor entertainment during the beautiful summer evenings. Pinewood bar and grill serves up typical cafĂ© food, with a delicious American breakfast. New to Munds Park as of 2020 is The Borracho Saloon, one of my personal favorites. It’s a Rocky Point themed bar, including a taco truck serving Mexican Fare. They serve up great craft alcoholic beverages and musical entertainment as well. Sit inside during the evening and sing along to their 80’s and 90’s music videos for a trip down memory lane. Summer 2021 will bring several bands to their outdoor stage, featuring a stage reminiscent of something you might find south of the border. More info on Borracho Saloon here.
